New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics: TV Channel Schedule, Game Time, a Sweep?
Not a perfect picture for the marred season of the Boston Celtics as they try to extend the series against the visiting New York Knicks in Game 4 of the first round Eastern Conference Series.
At 0-3, the Celtics have a mountain to climb that no team has ever accomplished before in the history of the NBA. The frustrating season of the Celtics will about to end and the era of being the favorites in the East will be the last scene today unless they create something great in that roster. In the past five years, the basketball world had witnessed the best of the Boston Celtics but the age factor has caught on them.
Kevin Garnett (36) has gotten into the latter part of his career and that his game fades that his dominance is no longer evident to the game. Paul Pierce also has come to a position to admit that his prime is over. Part of the success of the Celtics in the past with Garnett and Pierce was Ray Allen who is now in the Miami Heat. Aside from that, the injury of rising star Rajon Rondo who can have a triple double in a night has been missed in the series. With the decrease roster, coach Doc Rivers couldn’t do anything to beat the New York Knicks.
Unless the Celtics will show up in a high level of energy to defy the powerful lineup of the Knicks, then Boston will go home early fishing. Yet another opportunity for Boston to dig deeper and to be reluctant in giving up the game.
While the Celtics decline is imminent, the rise of the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference was expected since Carmelo Anthony was acquired. The Knicks are here in the East to compete and to win in the playoffs. In the last three games, the Knicks totally overpowered the Celtics and that New York is ready to play in the next round in the East.
Expect this game to be emotional for the Knicks as JR Smith will not play because of suspension because of hitting elbow in the chin of Jason Terry. Thus, there is such an intense desire to close the series. Of course, the Knicks are more solid this year with the addition of Jason Kidd who knows how to win games in the playoffs. Kidd was a key player when the Mavericks won the championship a couple years ago and he has been helping the Knicks to be stable against the Celtics. Point guard Raymond Felton will have to score and to defend to be part of destroying the Celtics.
